Ben Kafka

Ben Kafka

Ben Kafka teaches in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at NYU. He came there from Princeton, where he was a member of the Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts. He is working on two books: one tells the story of how the French revolutionized paperwork at the end of the eighteenth century; the other is a critical guide to our contemporary civilization of forms and discontents. He is the recipient of a Fulbright as well as fellowships from the Whiting Foundation, the Social Science Research Council, the Society for French Historical Studies, and others. He received his Ph.D. in History from Stanford.
